Law enforcement sources said the murder happened at about 8:17 p.m. on June 9 in front of a home on the 700 block of Bryant Avenue in Hunts Point.

Officers from the 41st Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found the victim, a 25-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.

Police sources said the motive for the shooting remains unknown at this time, and it is not clear whether the victim was the intended target.

EMS rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld the man’s identity, pending family notification.

Monday’s incident was the first homicide in the 41st Precinct and only the fourth shooting reported all year, according to the most recent CompStat report. At the same point in 2024, the 41st Precinct had tallied two homicides and nine shootings.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation into Monday’s murder, police said. Cops are looking for the suspected shooter, who was last seen wearing all-black clothing and fleeing on a “two-wheeled device” along Sheridan Boulevard.
